Aion Interview - Jan.2009

Aiononline.ro:Hello Sebastian.
Sebastian: Hello again AionONLINE.ro

Aiononline.ro:Rumours say that Aion will eventually come up in April 2009. will we play Aion this spring?
Sebastian: Aion will be launched during this year (2009), I can't go into greater detail than that.

Aiononline.ro:Will it be an European Open Beta?
Sebastian: We have announced Online Preview Events that will take place before the launch of the game. These events will allow you to try the game before it goes live.

Aiononline.ro:Will the future Open Beta, or the Final Release implement the latest, up to date Korean patches?
Sebastian: I couldn't tell at the moment how well the versions will match, but we'll be working as hard as we can to ensure that the client is kept up to date and that as few bugs as possible are exposed. It will be our ambition to maintain an excellent service quality', and keeping the game updated is an important part of that.

Aiononline.ro:What about the NA/EU servers, will they be limited to North American and European continents or will they be open to other countries like Russia or Australia?
Sebastian: This is to be determined.

Aiononline.ro:What will Dev. Team Europe do about bots?
Sebastian: We are currently discussing many different solutions to botting/RMT which continues to be a large issue in MMO gaming. The most important thing I can tell you is that we are very serious about it and will not be lenient. It's like a vendetta. I can however not go into details on the methods, as I hope you understand that would risk reducing their efficiency.

Aiononline.ro:Will there also be a limit of hours per user account in NA/EU like in Korea?
Sebastian: We haven't yet announced the business plan we will be using for the EU/NA territories, but when we do - this information will be a part of it.

Aiononline.ro:Will it there be Legion Halls at the time of the final release, or will they be implemented as un update afterwards?
Sebastian: Legion Halls were not a part of the Korean release, but depending on the game's progress up until we release it in EU/NA, it may or may not have be implemented by then. We know that many are interested in seeing Legion Halls in Aion, and we will be working to that end. But I don't have a 'yes' or 'no' for you right now.

Aiononline.ro:Are there any epic bosses?
Sebastian: There are very bad-ass bosses, yes. I suggest you play the game after release and find them. ;)

Aiononline.ro:Are you able to modify the character you've created?
Sebastian: Face/Hair/Body proportions are currenly permanent once they have been chosen, but there may be changes to this in the future pending user feedback.

Aiononline.ro:Will you be able to transfer characters from one server to another (similar to the feature implemented in WordOfWarcraft)?
Sebastian: To be determined.

Aiononline.ro:Are there special items sets for every class and if so will they have the same characteristics in both PvP and PvE games?
Sebastian: Items do not have specific PvP or PvE statistics, and items are not directly bound to classes - but to the proficiencies. Each proficiency does of course have items that are unique to that proficiency.

Aiononline.ro:Will there it be regular yearly updates for Aion, like there are for Lineage 2?
Sebastian:Somehow this question is asked every time in an interview, but I still don't have an answer. ;)

Aiononline.ro:Thx for your time.
Sebastian: Glad to be of service. If answers are too short for your liking, it is because I cannot give any longer or exact ones at the moment.
